Operatico Performs at a Stunning Wedding Near Hamburg
Operatico were delighted to be asked to perform at a wedding on June 24 in Germany, near Hamburg at a beautiful, converted farm estate. It was located by a beautiful lake and there was a spar and restaurant of which we were able to take advantage, of course, after we had our official rehearsal in the wedding venue itself which was a huge upstairs converted barn area with a stage.
Flexible Trio Performance for Weddings
For this appointment we were booked as a trio and not a quartet. We are a very flexible group! On arrival we spent the night in a beautiful cottage on the estate and the next morning we got to work. We had our rehearsal of the music and choreography. Yes, we do rehearse movement during each song, and we rehearse what we will say between each song also. Lawrence can speak German, so he did most of the talking on this occasion, however, Matt and I did our best to contribute.
Bond-Themed Music and Classic Hits
We were told the couple were James Bond fans and we already perform a great version of ‘Skyfall’, so we added the famous Bond theme, ‘Thunderball’, to our concert and it was also a success. Another song which is greatly loved and known by most is Frank Sinatra’s ‘My way’, and it was suggested to us by a friend, and she was right; it was a success. In the programme for the wedding performance were: Thunderball, That’s Amore, Skyfall, Nessun Dorma, O Sole Mio and Funiculi Funicula.
Guests Enjoyed the Live Music Experience
The weddings guests enjoyed our performance as they sang along and the next morning at breakfast – which we ate in a beautiful restaurant – some of the guests told us how much they enjoyed our performance and the best man (I think) told us that the wedding couple were very satisfied with the entire day!
